Late one night Josh and his trusty roommate Paul grab a dozen eggs and reach for the camera.

NOT JUST any ol’ camera, the phantom gold HD, a piece of video equipment that costs as much as a small condo. Movies are seen at 24 frames a second, we were capturing the collision of eggs and face at 1,500 frames a second. The flying white oblong explodes in elegant twisting membranes and fans out catching the light. Fragments of shell dust rotate in the air. What bliss!

Finally, after 15 years of friendship we got to throw eggs at each others faces! Receiving an egg to the forehead is a gooey, jarring but somehow refreshing sensation. It kinda hurts, it kinda doesn’t. I missed Paul several times, clipping him in the head. Finally I stopped over thinking it and threw the eggs into his face. After the dozen would be chickens are splattered the walls and backdrop and ceiling we called it a night.

You look terrified to take an egg in the face. Don’t really blame you … I think it looks like it would hurt. I tried to crush an aluminum can on my forehead when I was a kid and it left a bruise (and I also didn’t succeed in smushing the can). I absolutely love this video … it looks like something you’d see in an art exhibit!
I could watch this all day!
Wow you guys take that hit so calmly. Love it!
